- Eases muscle pain: Effectively helps with muscle pain after physical exertion.
🌿 Application and proper use
For the best effect, follow this procedure:
- Warming the oil: Warm a small amount of oil in a bowl submerged in hot water. Warm oil is absorbed better.
- Application: Apply the warm oil to the affected areas (joints, back, muscles).
- Massage: With gentle, circular movements, massage the oil into the skin for at least 10-15 minutes.
- Action time: For maximum effect, let the oil act for at least 30-45 minutes, ideally even longer, and then take a shower with warm water. Keep the affected area warm.
🕉️ Use in Ayurvedic therapies (Panchakarma)
Thanks to its strong Vata-soothing properties, this oil is key in many cleansing and regenerating procedures:
Abhyanga (therapeutic massage): The healing properties of the oil are absorbed through the skin, improve blood circulation, release muscle tension and prepare the body for deeper cleansing procedures.
Pichu (oil compresses): A cotton pad or gauze soaked in warm oil is applied to the affected area. It provides continuous, deep therapeutic action to ease pain and stiffness, for example in spondylosis.
Sneha Vasti (oil enema): The large intestine is considered to be the main seat of Vata dosha. By applying oil into this area, Vata is soothed directly and systemically throughout the whole body, bringing relief in neurological and musculoskeletal disorders.
Kati Vasti (oil bath on the lower back): A ring is made from dough on the lumbar area, into which warm oil is poured. This procedure provides strong and lasting relief from back pain, releases stiffness and nourishes the spinal nerves and muscles.
